Ciao will be using old-family traditional gelato making procedures to open the Ciao Gelateria. Giuseppe’s sister, Civita, her husband, and son have been making their own gelato and croissants for more than 60 years. Civita’s father-in-law, Giulio, began the family gelato business 90 years ago when he used to sell it on a 3-wheel tricycle around the island of Ponza. Since then, Civita and Silverio have opened up a corner gelato and bakery shop there. Giuseppe is thankful to Civita & Silverio, and is excited to share his family traditions here in Vista, California.

The construction you see along E. Vista Way is the beginning phase of our 10,000 sq ft expansion. We will be using the additional space to offer a wider variety of Italian foods, wines and desserts. You can expect to see a pizzeria, bakery, delicatessen, cafe, gelateria, enotecta and a large banquet hall.

The banquet hall has been beautifully designed to comfortably seat 300 guests, the perfect size for hosting wedding receptions, corporate events, holiday parties, and other large gatherings.

We hope for construction to be complete in January 2018. In the meantime, please visit our restaurant and take a look at the progress!

Our restaurant is open normal hours during construction.
