Outside Catering and Banquet Rooms Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the service fee?

The service fee covers operational expenses such as insurance, advertising, maintenance and repairs to the event space, equipment use and maintenance, supply rental expenses, and labor costs associated with banquet events.

  • Does the service fee include the gratuity for the staff working the event?

Our service fee does not include a gratuity. Our team takes pride in making your event a success and appreciates receiving a tip in gratitude for their excellent service.

  • Can I order half portions of 2 buffet items to equal 1 serving per guest (or 1/2 serving of each item per guest)?

In order to insure that all food items presented on the buffet are available to every guest accounted for on the invoice, we do not serve half portions of any of our items regardless of how many items you choose to add to your catered buffet menu. Each item must be added for all guests included on the invoice.

  • How far in advance should I start planning my party?

We recommend a minimum of 3 weeks advance notice for catered events and about 6 weeks for banquet events, provided the venue is not already booked for your event. We do our best in any situation to be accommodating, provided we have adequate time to prepare your event according to our high standards.

  • Can I keep any leftovers?

What we prepare in terms of food is not just what the client has purchased for each guest, but also a surplus to make absolutely certain there is plenty of food. Therefore, anything left after the contracted number of guests have eaten to satisfaction, remains the property of Ciao and will be returned to the restaurant or sold at the per person rate at the request of the host and added to the invoice.

  • What if there is something I enjoy on your restaurant menu, but is not listed on the catering menu, may I request that item?

Please ask us about any of your favorites and if we are able to provide it for your event, we will happily do so.

  • Will your attendants serve my guests from the buffet line?

Our full service catered buffets are designed to be a self- serve line for you and your guests. If you wish to request extra assistance, you may do so at the rate allotted for sending extra personnel.

  • I'm worried there won't be enough food. How do you know how much to bring?

Our trained and experienced chef's know how to prepare the right amount of food so you and your guests are satisfied. We guarantee that you will not run out of food.

  • What's the difference between catering and take out trays or delivery?

Our take out trays are party sized portions of our most popular items and  are not priced to include any catering services.

Please see our catering section for details on what comes with a full service Italian buffet catering.

  • Do I need to speak to the event coordinator if I want to make a restaurant reservation for a private party?

Any events for which you wish to have full service catering provided, and for inquiries about our newly opened banquet halls, please contact our catering coordinator directly. For all other restaurants questions, to place an order for pick up or delivery - including tray orders - or to make a restaurant reservation,  please call the restaurant directly.

  • What, if anything, do I need to provide for your staff to set up a buffet catering?

For our full service catered Italian buffet, you provide the event space and appropriate surface area to set up the buffet for your guests to serve themselves from. Typically the equivalent to two 6' foldable tables is sufficient but please ask your coordinator if you have any questions.
